About Stephen Carter

Stephen will be speaking and presenting on his 10+ years of experience in building a nationally recognized entrepreneurship program on the campus of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy–a journey detailed in his book, Teaching the Entrepreneurial Mindset: Innovative Education for K-12 Schools.

The last three years, Stephen has worked with private, K-12 schools across the country to replicate this programming on their campus complete with student-run business ventures. He has discovered that the two keys to success lie in the teaching of the entrepreneurial mindset and in encouraging student collaboration–both topics which will be explored thoroughly during these two days.

If you’re a head of school or principals wanting to learn more about bringing Christ-centered entrepreneurship programming to your campus in a meaningful way that engages students around the entrepreneurial mindset and collaboration, visit https://www.seedtreegroup.com/ to set up a discovery call with Stephen.

Message quote

“Teaching entrepreneurship within the school setting is exciting for students as they are already thinking creatively and offers a space for them to channel their ideas. But the greater gain is teaching the entrepreneurial mindset. It is foundational to a student’s success and easily transferable from operating a new business venture to their daily coursework and social interactions.

This program is invaluable for our students and perfectly aligns to our school’s mission of developing a student’s character, intellect, and potential to explore, create, challenge and lead.”

FAQs

Is this event only for Christian schools?

While the event focuses on Christ-centered entrepreneurship education (based on Romans 12:2), it is open to any K-12 school seeking practical takeaways and inspiration around student engagement with the entrepreneurial mindset.

What if we already have a business or entrepreneurship class?

This event showcases the possibilities for how student entrepreneurship education can transform an entire school from Kindergarten to 12th grade. No matter the level of entrepreneurship your school is involved in, there will be key takeaways for all attendees that have immediate application at your school.

Will this event help us start a program?

You’ll leave this event with inspiration and action items and a clear plan to launch and build a program on your campus. You can also connect with Stephen Carter and Seed Tree Group to hear how this works on school campuses around the country.

Where should I stay if coming from out of town?

We recommend staying near CHCA high school at Drury Inn and Suites (https://www.druryhotels.com/locations/cincinnati-oh/drury-inn-and-suites-cincinnati-northeast-mason). The hotel address is  9956 Escort Drive Mason OH 45040 which is an 8-minute drive from the school.

Which airport is closest?

If you are flying, the closest airport is the Cincinnati airport “CVG” which is about 40 minutes from the school, not accounting for traffic. The airport is technically in northern Kentucky, so the drive goes through downtown Cincinnati. The school’s address is 11525 Snider Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45249.

What are the times of the event so I know when to book my flight?

We will begin early (8 AM) on Thursday, March 6, and conclude by 3:30 PM on Friday, so both will be full days. If you are flying, please plan to arrive Wednesday evening and you are welcome to fly out Friday evening or Saturday during the day.

What is the deal with the food?

Breakfast and lunch are included for both days. Please send us any dietary restrictions for planning purposes. You’ll be on your own for dinner. We have some key restaurant recommendations for you to try while you’re in town so reach out if you are interested.

Will there be transportation?

No transportation will be provided so if traveling from out-of-town, we recommend UBER or renting a car. There will be visitor’s parking on campus and in our auxiliary lot across the street from the high school.

What is the expected attire/dress code?

Business casual–we will be walking around campus a bit, and sitting for the main sessions, so you’ll want to ensure you are comfortable.

Is having a growth mindset required to attend this event?

Listen–if you have a growth mindset, you will LOVE this event, and if you come in with a fixed mindset, expect to leave transformed–the future of education is bright indeed!

“The entrepreneurship program challenged me to intertwine creativity and logic to design a dream that was realistic yet impactful. I still find myself tapping regularly into the research, critical thinking, and management skills gained from this experience.”

“The entrepreneurship program taught me more than business; it taught me to fail more, put first things first, be proactive, and embrace grit. More importantly, I learned that habits are life’s foundation. Little actions yield intangible results. These lessons prepared me and continue to prepare me as I take my next steps in life.”
