Greenbrier Christian Academy
The Story
Overview
Stephen Carter began working with Greenbrier Christian Academy in the fall of 2023 and worked closely with program lead Gary Wilson to implement the foundations of entrepreneurship curriculum with a group of twelve middle school students. By design, the curriculum led to ideation and ultimately creation of a new business venture on the school's campus.
In spring, 2024, these students launched a print-on-demand t-shirt business featuring student-created logos and school spirit attire. In their initial launch, they created a $3,500 profit that will be used to help launch additional projects in the coming years. They were even kind enough to send a t-shirt to Stephen...
Background info
"Two years ago, Greenbrier Christian Academy dipped our big to into the pool to check the temperature of the "water"--or rather, the teaching of entrepreneurship. We elected to use a very solid curriculum for our first year, but selected Stephen Carter's program for year two. What an amazing experience this has been!"

Evaluation
"For nearly 40 years I have had the privilege of working for an exceptional company and I have attended scores of excellent conferences and consumed too many books to count. Nothing, however, prepared for the the 'Stephen Carter Experience.' Having just finished his book and curriculum, there is nothing that I disagree with and nothing has been left out--his work is concise, succinct, engaging, professional, enlightening, accurate, and entertaining. Education in our beloved country is broken and that is understated. The nation - no, the world - needs to hear his message. Carter's practical approach that will 'fix things' will certainly confound the 'educated elite' because of its simplicity."
Start reading. Start doing. Start fixing. Just start."

Implementation
A group of 12 middle school students, under the direction of Gary Wilson, worked together to officially launch "Chomp Teez" playing off their gator mascot. This business will sell student-designed apparel to the school community and is driven by a student-generated mission, vision, and values. In the words of 7th grade student Emma, "As an entrepreneur, you must have a growth mindset, which is the willingness to change. We were taught that if you want to start a business, you must have grit, and you must redefine failure for yourself."
